The Disney Dining Plan has still not returned, despite what Disney previously announced.
While we (not-so-patiently) wait for it to come back, there is a small sliver of good news — Disney has announced a DIFFERENT dining offer will be available soon! We heard this offer was on the way, and now it’s officially here — we’re sharing all the details and info you need to know about the new Dining Promo Card deal for Disney World.
There’s a NEW dining offer available in Disney World!
If you book a minimum 5-night stay at a Disney World Resort with at least 4-days of tickets, you could be eligible to get a Dining Promo Card. Sometimes you can still get the offer with fewer nights, so we’d call Disney and ask. Disney did something similar to this for select guests last year, and we’ve also seen Quick Service Dining Cards in the past as well.
This expanded offer is available to book beginning today, January 5th, and only applies to trips booked for arrival dates between July 1st-July 10th and August 1st- September 14th, 2023. A lower dining package may be available when you book a summer package on other dates (so be sure to ask!).
Each reservation will receive one promo card via email upon checking in. The promo card can then be used like cash at select restaurants around Disney World!
The card value will be based on your vacation arrival date, number of nights you’re staying, and which hotel you choose. It’ll work similarly to a gift card, but it’ll be available digitally and will only work at restaurants.
The offer is good for up to a $750 Dining Promo Card. Here are the values based on travel dates and resorts:
- At value resorts — $35 per night if your arrival date falls from June 25th-June 30th or July 11th-31st, and $50 per night if your arrival date falls from July 1st-10th or August 1st-September 14th
- At moderate resorts — $75 per night if your arrival date falls from June 25th-June 30th or July 11th-31st, and $100 per night if your arrival date falls from July 1st-10th or August 1st-September 14th
- At deluxe resorts — $125 per night if your arrival date falls from June 25th-June 30th or July 11th-31st, and $150 per night if your arrival date falls from July 1st-10th or August 1st-September 14th
Wondering how and where you should spend that $750?! Make sure that you check out our DFB Guide to Dining. We have over a decade of Disney dining experience and have details and reviews on how to get the most of your money when dining in the parks!
Only one card will be issued per reservation, so if you’ve got a big group it might make more sense to book your rooms separately to get more Dining Promo Cards. Current reservations that fit the dates can be modified with the new offer, but keep in mind that some prices recently increased, so the modification may cost you more than it cost when you originally booked.
The Dining Promo Card will be emailed to the address of the lead guest on the reservation after check-in and will include a barcode that can be scanned at restaurants. The card can be added to Google or Apple Wallets on your phone; however, it cannot be attached to a MagicBand, MagicBand+, or MagicMobile.
It can be used for Mobile Orders, and you’ll just need to enter the gift card number to the My Disney Experience app to pay. The remaining balance on all cards will expire on September 30th, 2023.
The offer is available to book NOW — so if you’ve been waiting for the Disney Dining Plan to return to book a Disney World trip, this might be your best chance for a while!

Hi AJ,
Any word on if this is going to apply for us PASSHOLDERS? As always, thank you for sharing
Ok, my Disney travel planner reached out today and got me a dining card. However, she said I would receive two cards totaling $1350 at check-in. I’m staying at he Bay Lake Tower in a 2-bedroom villa for 9 nights. I don’t know if this affects the amount you receive or not. I love this deal, but I’m trying to figure this out. I’ve also reached out to my trabel planner.
Not available in the UK. Any idea if we’ll be getting this?
Can they make this anymore complicated?
Hi Melanie! Unfortunately, the dining promo card is part of a package deal that requires the purchase of tickets and a room together.
I’m hopping to go back to Disney in two years when things get back to what it was the dinning is going into the wright way I don’t like park reservations I stay at yacht club And enjoy going into Epcot for dinner I hope they do away with park reservations I been going to universal the last 2years hope to be back soon there’s too much confrontation going on in the parks just go back the way it was before Covid people want to relax and have a good vacation
I’m travelling December 27th, 2023. Any ideas about what’s happening past September 30th, 2023??
This is awesome. We will be at Pop Century 9/3-9/15 12 days and will receive a $600.00 gift card emailed to us upon arrival. There was a slight increase in our package as ticket prices went up but all in all a wonderful deal. Well worth it. Thanks dfb for telling us about this. You rock ?
I’m not trying to sound ungrateful, but $50/day for a family of 4 isn’t a whole lot for a “Dining Plan Replacement”… with a lot of the QS costing at least $30+/meal for the family, it seems like we wouldn’t get a ton of use out of this deal. Again, I’m grateful, but as we are staying at Pop Century for 6 nights, we would only qualify for $300 for our family of 4. We share meals, but seeing how QS meals cost $12-15/meal and $6-8/snack, even sharing meals would deplete this “allowance” within a few days.
We are going to grab bread to make sandwiches and bring most snacks, but we weren’t planning on bringing a heavy backpack to the parks… Now it feels like we may have to. Oh well, my parents who will be staying in a separate room will be receiving the same amount as we will, and it just doesn’t seem fair to me. It’s not like we are cramming 6ppl into a room or anything. It’s just hubby, myself and our two kids (13&6). Seeing as a 10 yr old is considered an adult in Disney Standards, that makes tickets more expensive, therefore meals are more expansive too.
Sorry, Im happy we are getting something for a replacement to a DDP, but I wish there was an option to upgrade for an additional cost, like the old Dining Plan offers. I’m waiting to see what the first receivers of this Promo Cards have to say in June.
I’m not going back until they bring back the real dining plan. You hit it right on the head…. waiting not so patiently! Our kids are all grown up and we have been on pins and needles waiting since 2019 to book our first kidless vacation. The nice thing is we have enough saved up now for a resort upgrade and we are going to do 2-3 weeks now… just waiting for the dining plan Disney!
Do I have to use a Disney travel planner to receive this promo or will I still receive it if I book my trip myself?
Hi Jo! You can still select the package even if you plan it yourself.
