Things have been a little busy at Disneyland recently… .
Alien Pizza Planet
Halloween decorations have arrived, Magic Key renewals finally became available again (with a bit of a wait), and 2023 vacation packages are now open for booking! We’ve also got new food coming to the parks, including a brand new pasta dish at Alien Pizza Planet — and we’re trying it out!
Meet the Count Down Shrimp Fusilli, which is made with Fusili Pasta topped with Garlic Shrimp, a Parmesan-Pesto Cream Sauce with Sun-dried Tomatoes, and Shaved Parmesan Cheese. It certainly sounds tasty, doesn’t it? So what did we think?
New Pasta!
Let’s start with the best part (in our opinion, at least), the Fusilli Pasta mixed with the creamy Parmesan Pesto Sauce! The sauce was warm and brought a kick of spice to the dish. We honestly had no complaints! Even if you aren’t normally a fan of shrimp, we think you would enjoy this dish.

Now, the pasta itself isn’t brand new, however the addition of shrimp on top is! We have seen the Count Down Chicken Fusilli in Disneyland before when Alien Pizza Planet was still called Redd Rocket’s Pizza Port, and really, we love both the chicken and the shrimp! The chicken version is still available, but now there’s an option to have this delicious pasta with shrimp.

Of course, if you don’t like Shrimp, this dish may not be your cup of tea. But us? We reaaaaally enjoyed this new pasta! You can find this new dish for $12.99. That pasta is cavatappi. Weird that Disney calls if fusilli.
Today I learned the difference between cavatappi (hollow corkscrew) and fusilli! That was a great observation, Reese!
