If you’re a Disney World fan, you’re probably aware of what MagicBands are — you can use them to get into the parks, scan in for Lightning Lanes, and even as a room key at your Disney hotel.
Back in September, Disney revealed that they would be releasing NEW MagicBands known as MagicBand+. And now, they’ve shared another look at the new devices!
Disney shared a first look at the Star Wars MagicBand+ as well as a look at a Bounty Hunter mark in Galaxy’s Edge.
Fortune awaits. None can hide.

They new MagicBands will be debuting later this year! Disney has said that one of the new features is that guests will be able to pretend to be a bounty hunter in Galaxy’s Edge and find virtual bounties. And, it looks like some of the markings are already out in Hollywood Studios!
Other features of the new bands include haptic vibrations, color-changing lights, and gesture recognition! You’ll also be able to interact with the gold character statues around all 4 Disney World parks.
And, at night, the bands will sync up with the fireworks shows!
We’ve seen some of the designs before, but now we know what the Star Wars MagicBand+ will look like as well. We still don’t know when exactly these new MagicBands will debut, but we’ll tell you as soon as we find out! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news and updates.

Of course they announced a new magicband, so they no longer care about MagicBand 2. There’s like 10 in the parks, not available to make anymore, and none that coordinate with other releases like they used to. Magicband+ isn’t even out yet and they already don’t care about the current one.
My friend sent me a picture thar they were in the park today. Only $30. That sounds really cheap.
Nothing says out of this world fantasy area like a regular door and building. Someone needs to contact the Batu building code department.
I was under the impression that Disney was going to start use of the Magic Bands at Disneyland in Anaheim. Is that still true or no?
Where’s the picture of the Star Wars magic band?
Hi Javier! Disneyland is still going to be introducing the MagicBand system this year. 🙂
