There’s ONE thing in Disney World that seems to change more than anything else. Do you know what it is?
That’s right, cupcake flavors! It seems like when we stop by a Disney World restaurant that sells cupcakes, there are often new flavors with new sugar decorations, a pile of icing on top, and most likely, some kind of unique filling in the middle. But hey, we’re not complaining — it just means more yummy desserts for us to try! And when we stopped by Disney’s Wilderness Lodge today, we were greeted with yet another treat to add to our LONG list of reviews.
Say hello to the Valentine’s Day Cupcake, found at Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Red wrapper, white chocolate hearts, pink sprinkles…it doesn’t get much more festive than this!
This treat is a strawberry cupcake with a chocolate custard filling, topped with vanilla buttercream, white chocolate hearts, and heart sprinkles. It’s hard to go wrong with such a classic Valentine’s Day combination of chocolate and strawberry, and in all honesty, it’s pretty much our DREAM Disney cupcake.
That strawberry flavor comes from REAL strawberries (not just flavorings, at least based on the flavor we got from it), and you can actually see those little chunks of fruit in the cake. Because of this, the cupcake wasn’t overly sweet and didn’t have that fake more candy-like strawberry taste.
The chocolate pudding was different than the typical more fudge-like chocolate fillings that we often get in cupcakes at Disney World, so it wasn’t nearly as overwhelming or heavy as what we sometimes end up with.
It’s definitely a sweet cupcake, but not overly sweet. We don’t think it’s so sweet that one person wouldn’t be able to finish it by themselves (a.k.a. get ready to enjoy this WHOLE cupcake!).
In fact, our only complaints here are (1) the cake itself was a little on the dry side (but not bad); and (2) we wish they would’ve done a whipped cream-type of icing rather than the buttercream. The buttercream added some extra sugar to the cupcake that wasn’t really necessary (at least in our opinion).
But even with the sugary buttercream, this was one of the BEST Disney cupcakes we’ve had in a while. Our reporter who tried this specifically said that it’s one of the better cupcakes they’ve had in Disney World in a long time.
One big problem: this is a one day thing! According to Disney’s Valentine’s Day guide this cupcake should only be available today (Valentine’s Day) at Roaring Fork. But things can change, so it’s worth it to check and see what cupcakes and other treats are available during your trip.
‼️Only available today‼️

If you get the chance, make sure to stop by Wilderness Lodge to get this cupcake today for $6.29. At least in our opinion, it’s worth every penny! Stay tuned to DFB for more snack reviews from around Disney World.
