To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.
There have been many changes recently around the country due to the continuing global pandemic.
Travel restrictions have been updated, mask requirements are going away in some places, and many flights have been canceled due to the surge in cases from the Omicron variant. Face mask requirements changed at the end of last year for Universal Orlando Resort, and they are now changing again.
Universal Orlando will no longer require face masks for fully vaccinated guests, according to WKMG. This policy will go into effect tomorrow — Saturday, February 12th.
Universal said in a release today that guests will not have to wear masks indoors or outdoors if they are fully vaccinated, according to WKMG. Universal Orlando had brought back masks on Christmas Eve due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
People visiting Universal Orlando who are NOT fully vaccinated are encouraged to wear face coverings while indoors.
Another change that is happening tomorrow is that Universal Orlando Team Members who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to wear a mask onstage or backstage, indoors or outdoors, according to WKMG. Unvaccinated team members will still be required to wear a mask at all times while on property.
The Universal Orlando website now reflects these updated rules.
It notes the change in rules for vaccinated vs. unvaccinated guests, and also shares that proof of vaccination will not be required.
Keep in mind, however, that all guests must confirm certain things before visiting Universal, including that they are not feeling sick and are not under any self-quarantine orders.
As of this writing, Disney World is still requiring masks indoors for all guests and Cast Members. But, we will be on the lookout if anything changes and let you know.
