It’s time for another update on what’s going to be CLOSED in Disney World next week.
If you’re heading into the parks next week, there are a few attractions, restaurants, and rides that you won’t be able to visit due to some scheduled refurbishments. We’ll take a look at each one and let you know when these will be available again.
Let’s take a look at each of the theme parks to see which rides and attractions are going to be closed.
EPCOT
You might not have noticed yet, but some of the bling is missing from EPCOT’s Morocco pavilion in the World Showcase. That’s because the gift shop Souk-al-Magreb has been closed.
This gift shop usually has souvenirs inspired by Morocco, including bright and colorful clothing items and collectibles.
It was supposed to open a few weeks ago, but since then Disney has put it back on the refurbishments schedule, and it’s now going to be closed at least through January 2022. This could be due to the supply shortages that we’ve seen affecting other merchandise locations in Disney World.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a popular water ride is still closed for some routine updates and maintenance.
Kali River Rapids closed on November 1st, and it is scheduled to reopen in mid-December of this year. This attraction has gone back and forth with reopening times. Sometimes the calendar has shown it opening on December 16th, and other times we’ve seen that the attraction could be closed through January 3rd, 2022. As of today (December 6th), Kali River Rapids is scheduled to reopen on December 16th of this year.
We’ll keep watching for updates on the progress of this refurbishment!

Magic Kingdom
The Walt Disney World Railroad is still closed in the Magic Kingdom, although we saw an update on the refurbishment’s progress at Destination D23 last month.
The train looks better than ever now! But we might not see it in action until the construction on TRON: Lightcycle Run finishes up over in Tomorrowland.
Some of the construction is getting in the way of the railroad tracks, so the train can’t run right now.
Disney hasn’t announced a date for the opening of TRON or the WDW Railroad, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything.

Disney World Hotels
The parks aren’t the only places with closures next week. One Disney World hotel still hasn’t reopened at all. Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort never reopened after Disney World’s closure last year, although it did have an opening date in December at one point.
Since then, Disney has announced that All-Star Sports will not open on that date, and it’ll remain closed for the foreseeable future. The delay is due to some extra construction going on inside the resort.
For anyone staying at Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside Resort, be aware that Boatwright’s Dining Hall is not yet open for business.
Luckily, its closure will not last much longer. Boatwright’s is scheduled to reopen on December 14th this year. So you’ll be able to enjoy their southern specialties soon, like the signature jambalaya, prime rib, and shrimp and grits.
Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, the Disney Vacation Club Villas are under construction right now as Disney adds some enhancements to the rooms.
Specifically, there will be new pull-down beds added to the villas to allow for more sleeping room inside.
That’s it for our update on everything that’s going to be closed in Disney World next week! Keep following DFB for more Disney news as you plan your trip.

Vicky, um, here’s Bob Iger doing the weather?
Hi Sarah! This is a random question, but you wouldn’t happen to know if the parks still sell the Orange Bird Funko Pop, would you? My friend is desperate for one for Christmas!
Kayla, our reporters tell me that they sold out quickly when they were released, and they have not seen them return.
