REVIEW: OK Disneyland, WHO Gave You Permission?

We’ve been trying out a bunch of holiday snacks at Disneyland over the last few days.

We stopped by the Festival of Holidays for lots of delicious snacks, and we’ve also feasted on pink churros, festive beignets, and a glowing drink. Now there’s another NEW holiday treat in the parks, and we just have one question for Disneyland: WHO gave you permission??

Get ready, because you’re not prepared for this amazing treat: the Churro Funnel Cake a la Mode.

Now, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Churro Funnel Cake in Disneyland. We’ve even spotted it in different locations, like when it was over at Hungry Bear Restaurant back in 2016 (but that version didn’t have ice cream). This year’s version is a house-made funnel cake topped with dulce de leche gelato, cinnamon sugar, toffee pieces, and caramel.

One of the best parts is that this funnel cake still has a hidden Mickey on top, made with the ice cream scoop and whipped cream!

So how does this year’s compare with the past churro funnel cakes? Y’all. The gelato makes all the difference. We loved past versions of this treat, but the caramel flavor from the gelato takes this funnel cake to the next level.

SO good

The caramel gelato with the cinnamon sugar is a match made in heaven. And it really does feel like a perfect mix of two iconic Disneyland treats — funnel cakes and churros.

Yes, we WILL be eating this agin.

Our only complaint is that the funnel cake itself could’ve been a bit warmer. Ours was a little cold, and we would’ve loved the temperature contrast with a hot cake and cold ice cream. But that’s really just us nitpicking because this was delicious. You can get your own at the Golden Horseshoe for $9.99.
