Things don’t always go according to plan at Disney World, especially with attractions.
Remember Plant Donald?
Sometimes, special effects don’t work properly, sometimes animatronics break down, sometimes other issues cause rides to be evacuated. It happens. And today, we experienced some ride technical issues at Magic Kingdom.
We were hanging out in Tomorrowland, watching the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover and noticed it hadn’t moved in about 10 minutes.
It’s not moving
Then we noticed that the PeopleMover was being evacuated — again. This seems to happen every once in a while with this particular ride.

We don’t have any further details as to why it’s being evacuated, though. But Cast Members were escorting guests off the vehicle.

For now, the attraction is currently listed as temporarily closed on the My Disney Experience app.

The PeopleMover deserves better than this. I would have thought it would have been in great shape once it finally reopened after the lengthy closure, but it seems like frequent malfunctions and evacuations continue to occur. Apparently the dated technology has the maintenance team confused or band-aid fixes are intentionally occurring rather than more expensive updates. Let’s treat the PeopleMover as the iconic attraction that it is!
