Disney World is certainly a magical place, but it’s not perfect. Sometimes things happen.

Splash Mountain
We’ve seen Mobile Order go down, animatronics with missing hands, animatronics just missing, animatronics with weird faces, and more. We’ve also seen rides go down quite a bit, too, including the PeopleMover, and Splash Mountain, both at Magic Kingdom.
Speaking of which…Splash Mountain is now down again after being evacuated this morning. Cast Members were on hand to help guests off the ride.

A Cast Member told us the ride had stopped due to technical difficulties.

We also have a video of the ride being evacuated.

Cast Members were also handing out water to guests as many had to wait outside in the heat in their ride vehicles before being evacuated.

Splash Mountain is set for a complete re-theme in the future, although we don’t have an exact date on when construction on that project will begin. We’ve seen some concept art of what the new version of the ride will look like, which will revolve around The Princess and the Frog.
For now, though, Splash Mountain will continue as is. And we’ll keep you updated on all ride evacuations, downtime, and refurbishments, so stay tuned.

I have been evacuated from Splash mountain in Disneyland—in Nov of 2019. We did single rider and most of us were inside – however one rider was outside at the top. They led us down through this insides of the ride.
Lisa, this means so much. I shared it with the team. Thank you for reaching out!
Evacuated from Splash Mountain (just before the big drop) in WDW on Oct. 15, 2018. Escorted backstage and given fast passes for future rides.
Kudos to cast members!
It seems that more and more rides are having issues and/or breaking down ever since DW reopened. It is obviously a maintenance issue, I wonder if it has top do with staffing? DW still hasn’t called back all of the employees they laid off, I wonder if some of those are maintenance personnel?
Just wanted to share a few words from our trip 9/20-9/25. Stayed at the all star movie, great hotel lots and I mean lots of usb ports in the room. crowds were really good, there were a few rides that had only 5 to 10 minute wait minutes, purchased boo bash, a waste of money with little ones to long of a day for the little ones. all in all had a really great vacation, thanks for all of your up dates and videos they do make a difference, on a side note, if you are the family pack mule spend the 50 bucks and rent a cart best money spent in the park for grandpa.
Larry, thanks for sharing! I’m glad you had a great vacation.
