We’ve seen quite a few refurbishments at Disney World recently!
Rides have been getting touch-ups, hotel rooms have been getting makeovers, and paint jobs have seen updates all around the resort. But one attraction was closed for a very specific reason — a new president has been added to Magic Kingdom’s Hall of Presidents.
Though it’s still closed to the public, Disney shared a first look at the new President Joe Biden animatronic installed inside the iconic Hall of Presidents show. Each time a new president is elected into office, a matching animatronic is made that will join the other presidents on stage.
The President Biden animatronic is in place now and when the attraction opens back up again, he will deliver a portion of Biden’s inauguration speech towards the end of the show. Here’s a first look at what the new animatronic looks like in its place on the stage.
On the table next to him, there are some nods to the president. Peach blossoms represent his home state of Delaware and a pair of aviator sunglasses are there as well, considering he wears the style frequently.
Disney also shared that the show will reopen in August of this year. We’ll be there to check it out when it does!
But, Hall of Presidents isn’t the only thing in Disney World that will be reopening soon. In terms of hotels, opening dates have been announced for Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts — French Quarter and Riverside, as well as for 2 of Disney’s All-Star Resorts.
Reopening dates have also been announced for Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, Turtle Talk with Crush, and Hollywood Studios’ Beauty and the Beast Stage Show. Plus, Disney has announced that fireworks will be returning to Disney’s Hollywood Studios soon!

Who cares !!! I never went in while Obama was in office and I won’t go in now !! So “ check it out” I’m sure some folks will be just giddy to see it. My opinion ( while it’s still ok to have one.). No offense just my feelings.
That was pretty quick.
He looks GREAT! I also think that those are either Amtrak tickets or an Amtrak schedule in the mail holder behind the President’s cool shades!
Quite honestly, I don’t think Disney does a great job on these–he doesn’t look like Biden. As I recall it took far longer to get Trump in there. I think that shows Disney’s bias, but then I already knew that. Fortunately, Disney has good food and good attractions (when they are running properly–hate the half attractions they are running now). If the real Disney ever comes back, it will be easier for me to ignore their politics! 🙂
Why did Trumps take so long and Biden’s was out in a jiff ?
Jacqueline, to my knowledge Disney never specified what the delays were in 2017. Apparently in a Twitter post back then, Disney stated that they’d always planned a late-December reopening, but I see other sources that say there was a June 2017 reopening planned initially. Obviously there have been lots of rumors about it, but to my knowledge, Disney hasn’t confirmed anything — other than saying they were working closely with the White House at that time to finalize the speaking part.
The delay with the Trump animatronic was due to scheduling issues they had with the former President. Trump kept rescheduling and therefore the project got delayed. Nothing to do with Disney’s “politics”.
Dave, I did see that as one of the unconfirmed explanations online.
