As the situation with the pandemic develops, we’ve seen a number of policies announced and changes made.
Flying to Orlando
Recently, we’ve heard about some updates regarding vaccine passports in Florida, and social distancing and mask requirements in Orange County, Florida. Now we’ve got an important update about mask requirements in airports, on commercial aircraft, and more.
In January, the White House announced a new executive order regarding travel. As we previously shared, the executive order indicated that masks would be required in airports, commercial aircraft, trains, public maritime vessels (including ferries), intercity bus services, and all forms of public transportation.
It’s Important to Stay Up to Date on All the Latest Requirements
The Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”) then issued a press release indicating that it would implement the provisions from the Executive Order by “requiring travelers to wear face masks when they are in airports, bus and rail stations, as well as while on passenger aircraft, public transportation, passenger railroads, and over-the-road buses operating on scheduled fixed-routes.”
The TSA’s mask requirement went into effect on February 1st and was set to expire on May 11th.

According to the TSA’s press release, “The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is extending the face mask requirement for individuals across all transportation networks throughout the United States, including at airports, onboard commercial aircraft, on over-the-road buses, and on commuter bus and rail systems through September 13.”
Airplane
The TSA also notes that while the CDC has shared that fully vaccinated travelers can safely travel in the US, CDC guidelines also note that fully vaccinated travelers should still wear a face mask, stay an appropriate distance from others, and wash their hands or use hand sanitizer frequently while traveling. Thus, the TSA’s press release notes “The extension of the face mask requirement is consistent with this most recent CDC guidance.”
Children under the age of 2 and those with certain disabilities will continue to be exempt from this TSA face mask mandate.

Those who fail to follow the TSA mask mandate rules could face civil penalties. The TSA notes that the existing civil penalty fine structure will remain in place. Those who fail to comply could face fines which start at $250 and go up to $1,500 for repeat offenders.

September 13 mandate masks still be worn planes ,trains and others . Thing do not look like it is getting better it is the same vaccinated for yourself health . I guess they can not ask you for your vaccinated card . There are penalty $250..To $1500 if you are dumb and cannot follow mask mandate TSA. You now people are going to push the issue of they cannot wear the mask there will be sneak people that are going to adhere to TEA regulations .
This extension is ridiculous and makes it extremely uncomfortable on the airplanes! Even for those who fly first class having to keep the mask on while you’re taking a sip of your drink and then putting it back on and then taking a bite of your food and then putting it back on is such a huge pain! Furthermore I am not taking this vaccine because everyone I know who has taken it has had reactions after the second shot! No telling what other health issues are going to incur months after the second shot or years after the second shot.
