When Disney World fans think of Mickey Waffles, they usually think of comfort, nostalgia, and maybe even pumpkin spice when it’s seasonally appropriate. But “graphic content” is certainly a new one!
Apparently a sugar-covered Mickey Waffle is a little TOO much, because a recent DFB Facebook photo was flagged with a trigger warning!?
Everybody relax. No need to panic. But a Mickey Waffle just broke the Internet.
Here we are, minding our own Disney business as usual, posting photos of Disney World snacks as we usually do. We posted a Facebook photo of our Mickey Waffle (which looked pretty perfect if we do say so ourselves), along with the phrase, “Your first @ has to take you on a Disney World vacation.”

DFB Facebook Post
Seems innocent enough, right? Well, Facebook was SHOOK, and the image for some strange reason was flagged as “sensitive content,” with the warning that “this photo may show violent or graphic content.” Umm WHAT!

Excuse us?!
Unless powdered sugar is considered “graphic,” we beg to differ! And our readers had a LOT to say about it too! The comments came FLOODING in with this one. A reader posed the question on everyone’s mind: “What’s so dangerous about a Mickey waffle exactly? This has to be a joke right?”
Another comment was a tad more understanding: “I can see why it’s graphic content for someone like me, as I would kill for one of those right now drizzled with strawberries and syrup.”
Then there was this astute observation: “Well, it is naked without strawberries and whipped cream.” The mystery of the graphic Mickey Waffle = solved!
Thank you, Facebook, for the LOL!

can someone let facebook know that those are just eyes ?
Welcome to Facebook, where everything is somehow racist or offensive!
Whaaaaat !! Give me a break ! That’s exactly why I am No Longer on fake book !!!!!!!
I want to know what happened too! I would assume somebody demanded an explanation from Facebook!
I do not like them because most of the time they are hard no taste . It looks great for Instagram but I would spend my money on something better taste . My snack is the dole whip refresh ing.I get a least one a trip in the park or the Polynesian Resort .
Clearly somebody’s “objectionable content recognition” program needs a LOT of work!
Yes that Mickey waffle has some enticing curves, but the color is way off…
I reposted a News Story straight from the Disney Website.
It got fact checked as False or Mis-leading. And was blocked from view.
Facebook and Twitter just need to stop and go back to being a Platform instead of trying to be a Publisher.
And they wo Der why so many people have closed their accounts.
I think it’s funny that stuff like this gets flagged. But things that really should be normally don’t.
Maybe it was graphic content because the mickey waffle looks like a decapitated mouse head.
Just shows you how stupid and paranoid Facebook is! Wish it had never been conceived!
Maybe he is smiling juuust a little too much. ??
Keep bringing the magic, AJ.
Sounds like someone has made a hobby out of looking for ways to be offended. I’ll have half-a-dozen of those beauties, please, so the poor little thing won’t have to eat theirs. And I’ll eat them on the jungle gym and big steel sliding board.
These corp .have nothing better to do than watch a MICKEY Waffles They must be the police of waffles and other food is next. Probably some one at Disney though it w as a joke . It could have been made up ànd out in public to see it anyone would notice noticed it . Some buddy took it down that fast they must of known about it .Controversy people love it .
It’s a Rorschach test. Can’t you people see it?
AlanC
You made me laugh out loud, in front of a customer no less. Thank you for the laugh I REALLY needed today. Maybe we’ll meet someday on the jungle gym!
Hi Jean+B,
Let me know when you find a really big, old jungle gym! I think the no-childhood-having lawyers made them extinct. I know the kids at my growing-up church in Charlotte would love to have one again. It was just off the end of the tall metal sliding board that burnt the backs of our legs in the summer – and that we slid down on waxed paper to make extra fast. The big family park even got rid of the real steam locomotive we used to crawl all over.
Remember how we got banged up on all of those things? Remember how those bangs, bruises, sprains and breaks taught us how to avoid them (mostly) in the future? To survive! To take responsibility! Without a lawsuit! Didn’t we turn into really cool people who learned early-on how to weather a little adversity without whining that it was someone else’s fault and that we needed to be protected from it? That spirit was lost a generation or two ago, wasn’t it?
Climb onward and upward!
AlanC, you hit the nail on the head! WELL SAID!!!!!
Where can you get blueberry Mickey waffles?
P, we found them at Hollywood Scoops in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Sunset Boulevard.
I for one love the Mickey waffles and blueberry is my absolute favourite, throw in some chocolate ganache and I’ll be in heaven
Maybe Facebook thought Mickey was a racist because of the “White Face”?
Pris,
Thanks! Most kids today don’t stand a chance with their parents wanting to sheild them from the breeze. That isn’t how Walt built the empire that flourishes today. He took chances, failed, and took more chances until he succeeded – risking EVERYTHING along the way.
How can kids learn to succeed if they have foam pads under them all their lives?
They need Jungle Gyms!
Unfortunately if you put blueberry and waffle in the same caption, Facebook probably screened for the term “blue waffle.” DO NOT google it- it’s disgusting and not at all waffle related.
