Because of health and safety guidelines, lines at Disney World tend to snake all over the parks — occasionally those lines take us to new and unexpected locations!

We’re going Soarin’!
With social distancing in the parks, lines can get pretty long, and Disney gets creative on where queues for attractions or restaurants can go. We’ve waited backstage for a lumpia at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but also for margaritas at La Cava del Tequila!
Well, today, we took a journey through the Soarin’ line and it took us outside AND backstage! We were standing in line and noticed that the line actually went through a door to the outside.

Just waiting in line…wait, where are we going?
Where does this magical door lead?

We’re off on an adventure!
We discovered it led to an area that is backstage (it’s usually only available to Cast Members).

We’re backstage!
The line moved towards the Imagination Pavilion. Kinda’ exciting, right? Cast Members set up a full queue with distancing markers. The Land Pavilion can get very busy, especially with lines for Soarin’ and Living With the Land sticking out!

Behind the scenes at EPCOT
The line snaked around a little in this outside backstage area before heading back through another door.

Another door!
That door led us back inside where a cast member was sending every other party into the FastPass lane, with other groups going into the regular lane.

Some trivia while we wait?
Ultimately, it felt like a pretty regular queue, but we were a bit surprised to see this line outside since it is typically all indoors. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the latest from the Disney Parks, so stay tuned!

When I went to Epcot and went on Soarn” in February, we had to go outside as part of the line. Thankfully it wasn’t too bad outside that day.
