Plexiglass is slowly but surely taking over Disney World.
Plexiglass has been added to an increasing number of attractions both in the lines and on the rides. And, as plexiglass is added, wait times tend to decrease! Well, as we escaped to one of our secret less-crowded places at Disney World, we noticed that the ride to get there had a plexiglass makeover.
The Wildlife Express Train now has plexiglass barriers in the train. If you’re not familiar, the train takes guests over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch where you can say hi to all the animals in the petting zoo or even have a chance to see vets taking care of the many animals at Animal Kingdom.
The train seats only face one way so you get the best look at all the Disney behind-the-scenes action on your ride. It’s great, but it has limited the number of people the train can take during the pandemic era. But, now plexiglass barriers have been added on benches.
The additional barriers mean that the train can fit more people each round, cutting down the line and wait time.
The plexiglass barriers are another way that Disney is modifying the park for additional health and safety of guests. In addition to plexiglass, Disney requires that guests wear face masks during their visit and practice social distancing. Stay tuned for more of the latest Disney updates!
