Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park still don’t have an official reopening date set.
For quite some time, several individuals and groups including Disney officials, California legislators, a trade association leader who represents Disneyland and others, and more have called on Governor Newsom to issue the theme park reopening guidelines that these locations need to properly reopen.
According to The Orange County Register, we may finally get to see those guidelines. The OCR reports that the press secretary for Governor Newsom has stated that reopening guidelines for California’s theme parks will be issued this week.
These guidelines will be issued by the California Department of Public Health and will ultimately be incorporated into the “Blueprint for a Safer Economy.” Over a month ago, Governor Newsom indicated that these guidelines were “forthcoming.” Just earlier this week, we heard that the guidelines were “very close,” and it seems as though that may indeed be the case.
We still have no official word in terms of what these guidelines will specifically include, but the issuance of these guidelines should allow Disney to better understand what steps need to be taken to properly reopen. We will be on the lookout for any more updates and let you know what we find.

Again, my hope is we have more students in schools and control of these fires before we ride small world. It would look super greedy if that is not in place. That doesn’t mean all SD’s, however at least in the OC our students are in seats. I mean think about it school or Disney. We are not Florida. There is 40 million people just in this state. Certainly do not need more and absolutely need to take care of ourselves. It’s not always economy over people. Please do not come here and start blasting photos of 70 dollar shirts and cupcakes while kids are at home struggling on line and parents are losing jobs or having to compromise life-work balance. This is not exciting news . We can wait a while, the fourth largest economy in the world is in LA. We will be able to get that cash flow back to Anaheim very quickly. Be good, Stay healthy!
Anything that is stated as a guideline or suggestion is not a law or anything legal so Disneyland should
have reopened months ago.
