The current global situation has brought about a number of changes in and around Walt Disney World, including the need to wear masks in the parks and required temperature screenings.
We’ve shared with you that the people we’re most worried about in Disney World right now are the Cast Members. Starting today, Disney Cast Members wanting to be tested for coronavirus will actually be able to get tested on Disney World property, with a dedicated lane for themselves.
Coronavirus testing became a point of contention between the Actor’s Equity Association and Disney in their talks to bring back certain performers to the parks. Recently, however, Disney and the Actors’ Equity Association were able to come to an agreement. The Equity Association has seemingly indicated that a large reason for this agreement was the fact that Disney would be making testing available for Equity performers and other Cast Members.
Disney has denied that the opening of a testing site on property was a result of its talks with the Equity Association. Instead, according to Fox 35 Orlando, Disney has said that the decision to offer testing on property was due to its discussions with the Florida health department.
Regardless of what prompted it, Disney, in fact, is now hosting a new drive-thru coronavirus testing site on Disney property. According to Fox 35 Orlando, the new testing site is open as of today, Friday the 14th. It is open to Florida residents but will actually have a dedicated lane just for Disney Cast Members and their family members. Disney issued a notice, however, reminding its Cast Members that testing is voluntary.
The site is located at 3010 Maingate Lane and is open daily between 7:00AM and 4:00PM. The location is operated by the Florida Division of Emergency Management. Those going to this site must, however, make an appointment. Disney Cast Members and their family members may actually make appointments through a website specific to Cast Members —DisneyCovid19Test.com.
The test will be a self-administered nasal swab that patients will administer from inside their own cars.
We will keep you informed if we get any more updates about this new testing site.

Self-administered? That’s ludicrous. It’s tantamount to doing your own flu swab test at your doctors office. Unless done properly and for the right length of time, it renders the test useless. I’m this is very uncomfortable thing and Disney thinks people will do it the right way?
There continues to be reasons why I am slowly disliking Disney more and more.
Can out-of-state guests of WDW get tested as well? We’re traveling at the end of the month and Massachusetts requires a test either prior to coming back from traveling or immediately upon arrival otherwise we must quarantine for 14 days.
Laurie, it’s described as also being for the general public, but I’m not sure if that includes any state restrictions.
The girl with the PizzeRizzo outfit and heart is my wifey!!! So glad you took this pic of her!
Jerry, thanks for letting us know!
Any update on this? We too will be traveling in from Massachusetts in 4 weeks and wanted to get this scheduled prior to leaving…
Dave, I have not seen an update on this.
