Happy pre-Holidays, everybody! July 25th was officially named “Christmas in July” by Disney, and we totally used it as an excuse to watch some of our favorite Christmas movies early.
Although Halloween is just around the corner, one of the Disney Resorts is making things merry and bright with some desserts that will make you gingerbread and peppermint fans very happy!
We’re celebrating Christmas in July the Disney way with a little extra sweetness! While we were at The Artist’s Palette in Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, we noticed not one but TWO Christmas Cupcakes out for guests to enjoy.
And, of course, we couldn’t resist grabbing them both while we were there! 😉 The Peppermint Cupcake was a chocolate cake filled with peppermint mousse and topped with peppermint scented whipped cream and a little peppermint bark candy.
If you’re a big fan of peppermint flavor, this Christmas in July Cupcake packed a punch! The peppermint mousse filling was VERY minty (but we loved the contrast to the chocolate flavor). The whipped cream on top was a lot lighter, but still had a hint of that peppermint flavor. Plus, the peppermint bark added a nice crunch along with the chocolate crisps that kind of made us feel like we were snacking on a candy cane.
But, the Gingerbread Cupcake was mixed up with completely different flavors, leaning towards a spiced cake and gingerbread spiced buttercream instead. (And, it was just as good as it sounds!)
The gingerbread filling on the inside was the same buttercream used in the frosting, so there was plenty of wonderful spiciness all throughout the treat.
The cake was nice and light, but was still moist. However, the leaf topper cookie reminded us more of a shortbread cookie with just a bit of gingerbread spice to it. After having the Gingerbread Cupcake, we’re definitely ready for Gingerbread Lattes to be back in season.
Although we’re still a few months away from gingerbread and hot chocolate during the holidays again, we couldn’t help but feel a little bit of the Christmas spirit with these treats for $5.99 each! A Cast Member told us that they might be around for a few more days at The Artist’s Palette, so be sure to pick these up if you’re staying at Saratoga Springs.

I love this idea of mixing it up, especially for those of us who go the same time every year. I go every October and am sick of all of the pumpkin spice crap. How about Easter in October this year. I want to try some different treats.
AG, it’s 2020 — anything can happen. 😉
