With cases on the rise in Florida, we recently saw a new travel advisory put in place for entering and leaving the state. Now, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has announced a statewide ban of on-premises alcohol consumption at bars.
In a tweet this morning, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation announced the new ban.
Effective immediately, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation is suspending on premises consumption of alcohol at bars statewide.

This will most likely just be for establishments with a bar only license and not restaurants with bars or bars that serve food. If you can be seated 6ft apart and not congregate at a bar I’m betting you’re ok to operate.
Does that means bars are… closed? If you can’t drink alcohol..? Any news on restaurants?

Allison, the rule specifies drinks can’t be consumed “on the premises”, so we need to figure out how that applies to various places at Walt Disney World.

I wonder if this will effect the food and wine festival?
Someone on one of the main Disney forums is there right now and was able to buy beer at their restaurant….I want to say maybe Homecomin’? They said the ban is on bars where more than 50% is based on alcohol, so restaurants with a bar were ok. Whether that interpretation is still being used or not, I don’t know, but I asked them specifically if they could still purchase alcohol, and they posted a picture and said it had not been a problem so far. So at least last night, they were still able to buy drinks at a restaurant that serves alcohol as long as that’s not their main thing.

I think Restaurants will be able to serve alcohol at tables, the bar area you may not be able to sit at, So if possible make a ressie for your fave place that has booze, sit at table and enjoy. I know we love to sit at bars and eat our meal but things are changing daily, looks like that not gonna happen, who knows if we all will have trips come next week,
Honestly maybe before reporting, get your news facts in order. I long for the days when you were about Disney & Food. Sorry, I realize to stay relevant you had to ‘report’ these last few months but most was a enticing headline and nothing more.
There are actual facts to those who questioned. Yes aThere is a serving food to alcohol ratio That comes into play. Something before putting out no info But we will look into it? The info was there, read it yesterday, you could have too, DFB and could have easily reported more info. The pass few months you’ve put out a lot of no info just click to open and find nothing really.
Does anyone know if this includes Poolside bars or in resort bars such as the Enchanted rose? Both of which would likely gain 50% of their revenue from alcohol sales.
