Disney World announced Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge last year.
The Disney Vacation Club resort was set to occupy the area where Disney’s River Country used to be, just near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Despite there having been several construction permits filed in the area a few months ago, construction and development on the new resort may have been canceled.
According to WDWMagic, several situations point to the fact that Reflections may be indefinitely suspended. Some construction sources indicate that the delivery of materials has been permanently canceled and that work on some already-completed concrete pours has been removed.
Disney has also refrained from filing any notices of commencement for the area since April 3rd. There has yet to be any official announcement from Disney so, as of now, this cancellation has yet to be confirmed.
Largescale cancellations such as this are certainly a possibility with the global health crisis and resultant economic downturn. Disney has canceled major projects in past recessions, and we’ve already seen significant construction delays this year.

I kinda hope they do. There is already too many hotels in the area and honestly it’s just too many people there now, so the parks are crowded even in non-peak. Any more hotels and they will have more rooms than tickets available.
It’s only about one third DVC and the rest is hotel.
I’m kind of hoping Disney does back off of this. I know they are wanting to provide Deluxe + DVC resorts to get that sweet cash from people but… I think they’ve gone a little over board on the recent DVC pricing. I think The Riveria is beautiful and plan on staying someday the cost is just too much to justify. I think this would’ve been the same
I agree, another deluxe hotel is not needed especially since the new tower at Coronado Springs , The Swan/Dolphin expansion and Riviera opening, there are too many rooms. It is becoming a have no have nots land that is too crowded. The other mistake was the expansion of Downtown Disney a d the West Side. They should have build another complex is a different section of the Disney property away from the existing. Give guests two places to go on two different nights instead of cramming everyone into one grand location. The imagineers goofed this one up royally. Disney Springs is too crowded already and is not the enjoyable experience it once was. Adding another deluxe hotel to Bay Lake is not warranted, we guests need space to breath, visit, things to do, not more guests added to elbow to elbow walkways.
