Disney Springs is set to reopen tomorrow with limited hours and we’re getting set to check out all of the changes.
Today though, local Orlando media has been allowed into a preview of the health measures that will be in place for tomorrow in Disney Springs. We’re taking a look at some of their coverage to get an idea of what we’ll see in the dining, retail, and entertainment complex tomorrow.
Disney is currently allowing a limited variety of local media sources to get a glimpse at what a reopened Disney Springs may look like. We’re taking a look at some of the social posts from Cierra Putman at WFTV, Dewayne Bevil at Orlando Sentinel, Amanda Dukes at WESH, Asher Wildman from Spectrum News, and Robert Guaderrama from FOX 35 Orlando.

Health Screening and Temperature Checks
As we know, Disney is requiring health screenings and temperature checks for those entering Disney Springs. It is also required that all guests and Cast Members wear masks during their time in the complex. Dukes reported in on what the screening space looked like when she arrived.
We are at Disney Springs and checking out their plans for reopening tomorrow. There will be 4 entrances, several of them are from parking garages, and guests temperatures will be checked. You must test under 100.4 pic.twitter.com/AQbutdtAT2

Looking back on our experience at Universal Orlando CityWalk, we interested to see how smoothly these temperature checks will run.

Greeter Team from Resort Children’s Activities Cast
A big difference from CityWalk’s reopening is that Disney Springs will have a dedicated team that will roam the complex making sure that guests are physical distancing and adding a little bit of magic for kids so that the safety precautions don’t seem too scary.
Members of the team are called Greeters, per Guaderrama, and are made up of Resorts Children’s Activities Cast Members.

This group had a lot of energy at the media preview, giving us a taste of the way they’ll try to bring smiles to guests’ faces.

Health and Safety Signage
There is also a bunch of health and safety signage posted as well. Bevil posted this photo of a sign that encourages distancing and sanitation standards.

Like we’ve seen in Disneyland Shanghai and in Universal’s CityWalk, Disney has opted to add some markings on the ground to aid in distancing and the flow of guest traffic.
Wrong way! @DisneySprings has placed directional arrows on narrow pathways to promote social distancing. @fox35orlando #FOX35 #WDW pic.twitter.com/3L7joFVeDb

World of Disney even has some stickers that are just like the ones in Shanghai to help guests with queueing at the entrance, per Bevil. Perhaps capacity will be limited within the store too. Remember, Disney-owned locations will not open until May 27th.

These measures will help to keep guests aware and doing their part when it comes to safety tomorrow and beyond.

Hand Washing Stations
There are a bunch of handwashing and hand sanitizing stations located around the complex for guest use.

One interesting measure is that trash cans have had their lids removed so that they can be hands-free, according to Wildman! He also noted the water fountains will not be functioning for the time being. However, Cast Members explained that this could change in the future.
Another sanitary measure @DisneySprings has made is remove lids from trash cans & make them hands free. There’s also plenty of hand cleaning stations out and about. @MyNews13 pic.twitter.com/sKew1DC6Ys

Guests and Cast Members are encouraged to wash their hands often for their safety.

Changes to Dining
Bevil posted some photos from a few dining locations. Wine Bar George, for instance, has spread out the tables on the patio so that customers can keep their distance from one another.

Some restaurant employees were around too, getting their spots ready to serve customers tomorrow. Bevil noticed some workers getting things prepared over at Paradiso 37.

These are just two of the restaurants confirmed to be opening tomorrow, and some of the others may have differences in their health measures.

What do you think of this sneak preview into the soon-to-reopen Disney Springs? Tell us in the comments!
I want no part of this “new normal”. Let’s get back to REAL NORMAL, ASAP!
I’ll be there when masks are no longer required TO WALK AROUND IN THE OPEN SUNSHINE!!
I have a Disney Vacation planned for the first week of August, that being said, I can live with the temperature checks, and the social distancing, but if you think for one second I’m wearing a mask…. boy are you WRONG! Spending my time in a Hospital Emergency Room doesn’t sound quite so Magical. Please just let me know early so I can cancel in enough time.
Looks like I’ll be banking all of my DVC points this year in hopes of better times. There’s nothing fun or magical in what I’ve seen, and as a Florida resident, a mask all day outdoors is just too much. For a quick run to the store, okay, but not for walking around in what should be fresh air! Won’t be seein’ ya’ real soon, but maybe in 2021!!!
I hope they change their minds about no functioning water fountains. The masks are bad enough when it comes to contributing to heat illnesses, having no water available will make it even worse.
MASK = NO WAY
Mid-July in the 90+ degree heat and humidity of Orlando, Florida is stifling enough as it is adding something that makes it even slightly more difficult to breathe and no way. I am from an adjoining state and am used to heat and humidity in the summertime, but I will have to either cancel or reschedule our Disney trip this year if the mask requirement persists into the summer. No kidding we’ve already figured out alternate Beach plans for this just in case. (we’ll just stay home first.)
If I could get to Florida I would use a mask I use it at work so nothing new for me . I live in New Jersey if I go today I have to be quarantined for 14 days when you leave the airport . Same with New York ,Connecticut .
Next vacation is book for 2021 Disney Cruise Line I will indeed wear a mask it will not bother me at all this Virus will be around for long time I will not let it ruin my vacation this will be the new normal get use to it or not have a life !?
