A member of our team experienced something interesting when checking the FastPass+ section of their My Disney Experience account.
The Disney World parks have been closed since March 16th. Previously, Disney announced that Annual Pass Memberships will be extended for however many days the parks remained closed.
A member of our team noticed something compelling in the FastPass+ section of their My Disney Experience account. They were unable to make FastPass+ reservations after May 13th, which is the original expiration date of their Annual Pass before the closures took place.
Based on the policy announced by Disney, the expiration date on their pass will be pushed back to reflect the Disney World closure. BUT, it doesn’t look like that is automatically reflecting in the ability to make FastPass+ selections.
Note that we have had a number of readers share that they personally experienced the same thing. Multiple readers reported unsuccessful attempts at making a FastPass with their Annual Pass that would have expired during the closure (but should still be active, per Disney’s announcements that passes would be extended the number of days the parks were closed). In these cases, they called to speak with a Guest Relations Cast Member over the phone and the issue was easily resolved. So if you’re experiencing something similar, be sure to call Disney for assistance.
This could be a temporary glitch in the system, and we’ll continue to research this further. Again, if you’re in the same boat, call Disney first for assistance at (407) WDW-PASS and see if they can help resolve the issue. We’ll keep you posted on any updates to the situation as we learn more.

WE KNOW DISNEY.
YOU CAN, TOO.
Do you have an Annual Pass that was originally set to expire during the closure? If so, are you experiencing the same thing? Let us know in the comments!
I had the same issue. I contacted them with the dates of my visit and they opened up that week so I could make fast pass selections. They were super helpful, so just call of send them a chat in the app!!!
Yup, had this same problem. Booked for June 25 which is after my expiration date. Was able to call AP line and get the discount for the hotel however they would not help with fast passes. Advised to call back 47 days prior, which is how many days my pass will be extended for. Very confusing. They were very nice about it, but it was frustrating.
I had a similar issue which shows that they are not in sync with some things. May AP expires on June 2, 2020. Back towards the beginning of April I attempted to make a resort reservation for the week of June 13 since that would have put me just inside an AP expiration with the closure dates added. At first, the website would not allow me to do that but then a few days later I was able to make resort reservations for that week, even though it was a couple of weeks past my AP expiration date. As stated in this article, when I went to the site tonight the calendar selection would only allow me to select dates up through June 2, my original AP expiration date. Apparently they are not updating things on a daily basis. Hopefully, all of this will smooth out after they’ve make an announcement on how they are going to proceed. I guess at this point we don’t even know if the existing FastPass system will be used when they do reopen. Although Tina’s advice is good, I don’t think that I should have to call them given the amount of money I’ve spent on the APs.
They added what they called a Key Card for the dates of our trip. It shows up like a ticket in MDE and we made fast passes without issues. Just call prior to.
If you book a room they will give you fast pass cards that allow you to book your fast passes. As soon as they extend passes once date of opening is known they transfer automatically to your account. You just have to call passholder line. Worked for us.
It ultimately doesn’t matter bc there aren’t any fast passes left by the time the 30 day window opens anyway. They are metering the amount of fast passes they give out and that’s a fact. I’ve been a pass holder too long to believe they aren’t. 30 day out and I can’t get a Dinosaur FP? Give me a break.
I was under the impression that they first said they were going to extend the expiration date and then they said they weren’t going to charge us the monthly payment after March 14th or 16th or whatever but not extend the expiration date. We didn’t get our March payment back but they didn’t take out the April payment. We also expire in the middle of May.
I called and was told the if you are paying monthly, the payments will stop and you will expire at the original date, but if you paid in full, the expiration date was extended. This can however be changed if you call. If you make payments, you can ask them to put those stopped payments at the end of the cycle to extend your membership the amount of time the park is closed, once the park reopens and continues as normal.
I have a reservation during the extension. They added a FP card to my account so I can book fast passes at the 60 day mark.
I had to renew my annual pass before I was able to book fastpasses (we have a DVC pass–not sure if that makes a difference). We went ahead and renewed and will need to keep an eye on the dates when they open back up. We weren’t given the option to “open it up” for our dates. We have reservations 5/30 to 6/6 and 6/13 to 6/18.
I had the same problem. The cast member we talked to said they couldn’t help me, that I would have to talk to their tech department. I went ahead and renewed our passes. It was easier than waiting on the phone and trying to get them to help me with the FastPass+.
