Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at the Disneyland Resort and Downtown Disney!
We’ve got plenty of merchandise, food, and construction updates to share with you, so let’s dive right on in!
Disneyland Resort Food Update
Grand Californian Hotel
Everything sweet is popping up at the Craftsman Grill for Valentine’s Day! And, we are LOVING the adorable Sweetheart Cupcake (which is totally perfect for your special someone). The chocolate cupcake is topped with a swirl of vanilla and cherry frosting, crunchy pearls, festive heart-shaped sprinkles, a chocolate Minnie bow, and chocolate Mickey ears for $7!
Check out our full review of the Sweetheart Cupcake here!
Disneyland Park
We literally have an entire collection of Disney popcorn buckets (since we can’t get enough of ’em!!). But, one of our all-time FAVES has finally chugged into Disneyland! The black and white Steamboat Minnie Balloon Popcorn Bucket is basically the cutest thing we’ve ever seen in the parks!
The Annual Passholder bucket can be picked up for $18.59 with $1.50 refills through March 29th. And, the new popcorn bucket has sailed into both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure so you have double the chance to get it!
Check out everything you need to know about the Steamboat Minnie Balloon Popcorn Bucket here!
New Orleans Square
Beignets are a must-have if you’re visiting Disneyland. And, while we’ve spotted the Chocolate Mint Mickey Beignets and Red Hot Beignets filled with Fireball (!!!), there’s another rich, chocolate-y treat making its way to the park! The Double Chocolate Mickey-shaped Beignet is the latest secret menu item at Mint Julep Bar (and we could eat an entire batch of them).
You can get a pack of 3 for $5.49 (or ya know, 6 for $10.98 ;D) before you head over to ride Pirates of the Caribbean or Splash Mountain!
Disneyland Resort Construction Update
Disneyland Hotel
If you’ve been to the Disneyland Hotel, you’ll know that the Monorail Slide is basically another awesome form of Disney transportation. And, while there recently has been some construction for a small refurb…
…the walls are finally back down so we can ride the “Monorails” once again! Pool day, anyone??
New Orleans Square
We’ve been waiting to “huuurryyy baaack” onto the Haunted Mansion since it closed for refurbishment in January. And, now you can spot an illustration of the spooky mansion on its construction tarp if you’re missing those tall columns and sinister windows!
While the refurbishment won’t be finished until the spring, we are excited to see some of the updates to the mechanics, interiors, and exteriors.

Disneyland Resort Merchandise Update
The Emporium
We enjoy using Memory Maker when we plan on taking hundreds of pic in the parks. We love having our favorite moments captured by the amazing photographers, especially since the photos are such great gifts for friends and family members! And, after you pose with your favorite characters or in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, you can put your snap in the Mickey Photo Holder!
You can even pair it with Mickey’s lady love, the Minnie Photo Holder, which comes in an old-fashioned style…
…or classic style for $16.99 each!
World of Disney
The animators at Walt Disney Animation have created some of the most heartfelt and memorable characters that have ever graced the big screen. While we’ve already spotted the Ink & Paint Minnie Ears in Disney World, we’re celebrating the imagination of the Disney artists with the new ears in Downtown Disney too!
The ears feature sketches of some of our favorite characters (even Mr. Toad!!), paintbrushes, and an artist palette for $29.99. Don’t you feel inspired just looking at them??
Check out all the details on the Ink & Paint Minnie Ears here!
If you’re living for the Ink & Paint Collection as much as we are, you can even have the kids join in on the fun! The Ink & Paint Kids’ Baseball Hat is filled with sketches from different Disney films.
Hey, Dumbo and Jiminy.
And your little ones can actually color (!!!) it using these fabric markers for $27.99. Um, you can take all our money, Disney!
While all of us might not be artists, you can still be super creative back home with the new-to-us “it’s a small world” Mix and Match Magnet Set!
You can make new looks or stick to the classics with the different outfits and sets straight from the ride for $19.99! Who knows? Maybe a cowboy hat would look good with a dress! ;D
Well, that’s all for this What’s New at the Disneyland Resort and Downtown Disney! We’ll catch you next time for more food, merchandise, and construction updates!

wow. Its kind of embarrassing I never realised the Disneyland Hotel even HAD a waterslide, let alone one where you slide through a Monorail. Now I have to somehow come up with the funds to stay there for a day or so to experience it and Trader Sams!
