We’ve joined the Resistance on Batuu East, and IT. WAS. EPIC!
But on January 17, 2020, it’ll be time to fight the First Order at Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge, too. And in case you’re wondering how Disneyland is going to manage those crazy crowds, we’ve got the answer!
According to the OC Register, Disneyland is confirmed to be using a virtual queue for the attraction’s highly-anticipated west coast opening. Here are the details:
Guests hoping to ride the innovative, immersive attraction will need to be inside Disneyland Park and use the Disneyland app to join the virtual queue. Push notifications will be used to let them know when it’s their boarding group’s turn to join the actual line. From there, it’s smooth sailing… until, you know, they encounter Kylo Ren. And Stormtroopers. And massive AT-ATs. Or unless the ride breaks down. Hmm…

Are you planning to fight the First Order at Disneyland Park next year? Tell us about it in the comments below!Â
If we get in a boarding group, then go over to California Adventure, will we lose our group?
(to clarify the above) Our plan is to enter Disneyland/Magic Kingdom, enter the Rise of the Resistance virtual queue, then go over to DCA for the Lunar New Year booths, returning when our boarding group is close. Will we lose our place in the RotR virtual queue by leaving the park?
Season, Disney didn’t clarify this point specifically, so you might want to call to confirm. The information for Disneyland just said guests had to be in the park to access the virtual queue via the app. But at Walt Disney World, guests were able to leave the park and just come back when it was time for their boarding group to board.
I had called the Disneyland resort help line to ask them more about getting into the virtual queue for my husband and I’s trip in Febuary 2020, and the cast member had told me that Disney was not doing a virtual queue or reservations of any kind, and to get there early if we wanted to ride. Which of this information is correct? We are huge star wars fans and have been long anticipating the ride and don’t want to miss the chance to ride! What should we do?
