… Sooo, yeah. That Galaxy’s Edge Coke Bottle ban that we told you guys about?
TSA has reviewed the ban and decided to reverse it (um thank goodness).
While Star Wars fans were mourning the loss of being able to bring back one of the coolest pieces of merch from Galaxy’s Edge, Disney requested that TSA take a step back to look at the situation — and probably think about the backlash tbh.
In a statement released by the security administration according to the Orlando Sentinel, they stated that travelers can transport their bottles one of two ways: in checked luggage (where they’ll be treated by security as “oversized liquids”) or in carry-on bags (as long as the bottles have been emptied before going through security).
Well, at least you don’t have to worry about throwing away the themed bottles, complete with the logo in Aurebesh language!
Gotta love that Star Wars merch, right? (;

move along, these are not the droids we were looking for…
The sentinel article actually said that an unopened Galaxy’s Edge coke bottle could be placed in your checked luggage, and they would treat it as a oversized liquid.
The other option is that you can empty it, and then you could have it in your carry on.
Wanted to try and clear that up since the article as written, seemed a little confused on that.
You can have them in carry on bags as long as they’re emptied, too.
For those clarifying the checked luggage/carry-on statement from TSA: I’ve updated the post to reflect the TSA’s statement. Thanks for reading!
I’m so angry, we left ours due to the initial ban. Disney or the TSA owes me $6 bucks. They really should have cleared all this up before selling them. Marketing department fail on that one. Didn’t anyone try to fly them home from Disneyland months ago? Why only coming to light for Disneyworld travelers now? Or do they not have these in Cali?
D., they do have the detonator bottles at Disneyland Park’s Galaxy’s Edge. The ban came out only recently (and then was revoked, as you know).
I understand your frustration. The ban, temporary as it was, made them look like a bunch of idiots. I guess someone with half a brain finally got wind of the situation and rectified it.
