Two other ways that I’ve gotten into the parks early, but generally you won’t have much to do other than the event you paid for. Right now, neither are available, but you did ask for ways we had done it in the past.
1) Back in the day, if you stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL) concierge level, there was a extra cost (in addition to concierge level) Sunrise Safari (SS) that took you from the lodge to the park before it opened, and you did a special Kilimanjaro Safari ride that was longer and stopped to allow people to take photos. There was a breakfast buffet afterwards. If I remember correctly, by the time breakfast was over, the park had just opened.
IIRC, they also gave you a free fastpass for the regular safari ride later in the day. Unfortunately this is no longer being done. I remember being disappointed to learn when I was planning our last stay at AKL that SS had been cancelled. Now frankly without the SS, I didn’t see the point of concierge level, and downgraded our stay at AKL to just ‘normal’ savanna view.
2) The other way was to do the “Disney’s The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour” where you get into the Magic Kingdom before rope drop, but when you finish up with all of the train backstage stuff, the park will have been open.
