Are the 2020 Disney Dining Plans different from the current Dining Plans?
Over the past few years, some changes have come to the Disney Dining Plan. In 2017, Snack Credit entitlements increased from 1 Snack Credit per night of a package stay to 2 snack credits for the Quick Service and Standard Dining Plans (the Deluxe Dining Plan remained at two Snack Credits). In exchange, the dessert was removed from the full Quick Service meal entitlement.
An even more significant change occurred for the 2018 Disney Dining Plans, when alcoholic beverages were included for of-age guests to both Quick Service and Table Service meal entitlements. Specialty drinks were also added for guests who are not of-age or choose not to imbibe.
As in 2019, for 2020, all of the additions from the 2017 and 2018 remain with no significant changes (though, as per usual, there are pricing adjustments, which can be found on the individual Plan pages as linked above).
Current restaurants participating in the Disney Dining Plan can be found here.

It’s a shame that the Dining Plan/resort package isn’t available for the Polynesian in 2020 as that is my wife’s favourite reort. I suppose, though, that it does give us a chance to stay at the rather swish looking Grand Floridian instead.
Over a year to go and already vibrating with excitement
For a second it seemed like you couldn’t use a table service for breakfast. When I clicked on the link to get more details I was releaved to see you can use it for breakfast. If you use a table service credit for breakfast dessert is not available. (Dessert is available with lunch and dinner.)
I plan on using some of my table credits for breakfast buffets and am happy that the 2020 dining plan will work for me.
Thanks DFB for the update.
You probably don’t know, but any idea when they’ll announce when in 2020 they’ll offer free dining?
When is the best time to book a trip for 2020? Will they have any free dining plans?
I’m not seeing the vacation packages? I go to the website and I am seeing no packages for 2020. Am I the only one?
From what I saw on DIS Unplugged;don’t expect free dining
Is small world vacations.com the same company as pixie vacations but with a new name? Or are they different and do you recommend using one over the other? Or is it the best to call Disney direct to book a Disney vacation.
We are planning a family WDW vacation in 2020 and would be interested in finding out when it is least crowded and when they might offer the free dining plan.
Is the dinning plan only for us residents?
Rita, no, it’s available for purchase by international guests, too.
Mary, historically Free Dining was available for dates in the late summer to late fall, but in 2019, dates were moved up (July through September). There’s no way to know what dates will be earmarked for Free Dining in 2020, unfortunately. But for perspective, this year’s dates were announced on January 2. In 2018, Free Dining was announced on April 24. So it’s important to keep a close eye on DFB (sign up for our Newsletter!) for the announcement!
Adrienne, we love working with Small World Vacations!
Jeff, we likely won’t hear about Free Dining until the beginning of 2020. The best time to book would be what works for you! If you’re a planner (like I am!), you might want to book sooner so you can start working out how you want to spend your time. But if Free Dining is a big part of your travel, you may want to wait until it’s announced and be ready to book ASAP!
Bethany, in 2018, they announced in April. In 2019, they announced in January (and moved up the dates). So it’s really up in the air when they’ll announce and what dates will be included in 2020. But rest assured we’ll post as soon as they do!
When are the dates for free dining for 2020.
Janene, the dates for 2020 Free Dining likely won’t be announced until early 2020. We’ll update on DFB when they are released!
Any idea when the updated list of participating 2020 restaurants will be released? With all the new restaurants opening up I imagine there will be a few changes. I know Disney usually releases a convenient PDF and DFB has your fantastic running list with URLs!
Hi, Sarah! As a general rule, I don’t think Disney ‘announces’ these. We double check every year and update our list as required, but that usually doesn’t happen until the new year has begun. But we’ll be sure to update ASAP in 2020!
Do you know if Port Orleans French Quarter is going to be part next years free dining? I’ve heard it hasn’t been for over 5 yrs or more
Has Marrakesh and the San Angel restaurants been removed from the 2020 Deluxe Dining Plan?
Howard, I see they’re not listed for 2020 yet, but we expect they’ll be added. I’ll keep an eye on that.
Does everyone have to order when dining at a signature restaurant? We are on the deluxe dining plan and made a few signature ADR’s but my youngest doesn’t eat much so I was planning to share a plate with her. Is this allowed? I don’t want to spend 2 credits for her to take 5 bites.
Brittany, you should be able to do this at signature restaurants; definitely talk to your server about it. Note that typically the buffets or All You Care to Enjoy spots will charge per person on the reservation.
We will be going July 2020! so excited going for the delux dining plan! Has free dining ever been offered in June/July (summer months)?
Hi! We’re new to Disney travel, but we’ve booked the deluxe dining plan for our trip in April 2020. We noticed (in Epcot in particular) the number of participating restaurants drops dramatically (from 37 to 16) from 2019 to 2020. Do the restaurants usually confirm their participation closer to the new year? The restaurants we wanted to dine in at Epcot are no longer part of the 2020 list, and I’m wondering if we should change our dining plans if we will end up more limited in our selection on the dining plan anyway. Thanks for any help you can provide!
Morgan, you are correct: they’ll confirm participation closer to 2020. If they are operated by a third party (as many/most are), the contracts can take time to finalize.
Do you know how soon restaurants usually confirm participation in the Dining Plan?
We’re going in April, and most of the ones we’re looking at have confirmed, but a few have not yet, including:
* Maria & Enzo’s
* Morimoto Asia
* Teppan Edo
* Raglan Road
* House of Blues
I’m thinking it’s worth booking our restaurant choices now, based on their 2019 Dining Plan details, and potentially changing our plans nearer the time. Better that than wait, only to find the places we want to eat at are already full.
Lucy, they’ll start confirming through early 2020. We expect they’ll all accept DDP, but restaurants run by third parties often take some time to confirm their contracts.
I leave for WDW in 6 days. Meanwhile, I already booked my 2020 trip. I might just take the deluxe dining plan. It looks like it would take up most of my time which is fine by me!
The restaurants that are participating in the 2020 Disney Dining plans can now be found on the Walt Disney World website! One big change is that Morimoto Asia will now only be 1TS credit for dinner in 2020!
Alyssa, we’ll keep watching! Sometimes things can change through January, but if this holds, what a great deal!
I finally sprung for the Deluxe Dining plan. But, it looks like Monsieur Paul, Spice Road Table and Yak and Yeti are all off the 2020 dining plan. Will this change? I have January reservations and rebooking is a pain.
Bob, we expect those restaurants will all confirm their DDP contracts for 2020. (The restaurants not owned/operated by Disney sometimes take time to confirm.)
You wait a day and see what happens! Yak n Yeti and Spice Road Table have been added to the 2020 plan. Now all I need to have added is Monsieur Paul!
Excellent news, Bob P.!
Hi, we are staying at the Coronado Springs and got the quick service dining plan for 2020. Noticed it’s still not on the website as a participant in the plan? Do we know if it will be as we have planned to eat here
Any news on more 2020 quick service locations, our hotel is missing atm (coranardo)
Going in Feb
Laura, we’re checking on all of the 2020 DDP-eligible restaurants. We’ll be posting soon!
Chris, we would definitely expect it to be. We’re working on the 2020 list and will post it soon!
This is weird, I’ve just checked the Disney world website and it says that Yak & Yeti restaurant and Morimoto Asia are both not accepting the dining plan, whereas others on here have implied they are accepting dining plan, where are you seeing this info? When I go to the website it directs me to ‘Dining’ and you have to look at each individual restaurant where it clearly says ‘Dining plans not accepted’. Do you think this might change?
Julie, we expect restaurants not operated by Disney will approve their DDP contracts for 2020, but this sometimes takes time. We’re looking into it!
I heard that the 2020 Deluxe Dining Plan will now have separate adult and child credits. My daughter does not usually like to order from the kids menu. Do we know yet if they are forcing kids to eat from the kid menu? Also, at lunch and dinner it shows an appetizer is included but not all restaurants have children’s apps. Looking at Boathouse for instance. Will they allow her to choose an adult app or will she just not be able to order one?
