Thought you’d heard all the news there is to hear as we get ready for the 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival?
Well, you gotta stay tuned to the DFB, because as August 31st approaches (that’s the Festival kickoff date!), there’s still plenty to share! For instance, today we have brand new information about the Festival Tasting Sampler!
The Tasting Sampler comes with credentials (or vouchers) for eight food or beverage items at the Festival Marketplace Booths (some exceptions do apply, and will be noted on the voucher). Also included is a limited-release Epcot Food and Wine Festival Pin.

Note that last year, purchasers could choose between eight and sixteen items on their sampler. This year, from what we can tell, there’s only the option to get eight.
The price is $65, and the Tasting Samplers can be purchased daily starting at 9:00 am at the following locations: the Festival Center, the Bridge Kiosks, the Festival Shop at the Germany Pavilion, and the Festival Boutique between Morocco and Japan (additional places to purchase may also be made available).

Not very hard to make it a good value. Just choose 8 items that are $8.13 or more to break even or come out ahead.
You assume that price includes tax. Last years prices did not. So really you are talking $68.90 with tax which comes out to $8.62 per item. No food items are at that price so the only reason you would get this is for the few alcoholic drinks over that price point. Last year, it didn’t need to be all the most expensive alcohol (that isn’t excluded) for it to be worthwhile at 16 for $109 since there was food over $7.
How is this a good deal? or even an option?
Anyone seen a price sheet for menu items yet? I know which items I’m planning to try but I don’t know if they fall above $8.13…. this doesn’t seem like a good deal unless you plan to spend that much and want a pin

I agree. I think there are a few items at the $8 mark (Lobster roll is one) but not very many at all. If you only do food and not the drinks, it doesn’t seem to be worth it. For those that want to get it for the drinks, watch for those exclusions!
Would love to know what items can not be purchased with the pass. There were a few last year.
Can you post another picture of the rules on the back of this card? The glair cuts off some of the restrictions I was wanting to see.
Any AP discounts for this??
It would be great if there was an AP discount, but I know there wasn’t in years past. We bought this when it first came out in 2015 (it was cheaper then) and I did all the math and it was worth it to use it for the La Cellier filet and some of the more expensive drinks. I was looking forward to doing that again this year but now, I can’t see how it is worth it at all, I would need to see a complete price breakdown and just use it on expensive items.
Does anyone know where the sampler plan exclusions are listed? My party wants to use it for the alcoholic beverages but I can’t seem to find a place where I can confirm that what we want to use it for is covered.
I was wondering too. Seems like last year they posted at individual kiosks and you didn’t know until you went there.
I have the same question about the exclusions. It does not appear to be worthwhile with only two items at $8 or more unless some of the alcoholic beverages or beer flights cab be purchased with the sampler.
I am going November 2017 and i have to say i agree that it is not worth the deal as i have picked 18 items both food and alcohol and those items added up to $133.45. So if i bought two of those samplers at $65 plus tax say round to $70 that makes them $140 and since we are going two days it seems that i am just doing better paying for the food myself with my Disney band that my Credit card is on. Thoughts?
LOL.. you are looking for a DEAL …. from DISNEY!?!? This whole Food and Wine thing is a ripoff…. $7 for a bite of food… and folks are like… OMG!
For the amount of money you spend on this food&wine vacation at Disney… you can head overseas… twice.. and experience these “World showcase” places… FOR.. REAL!
It’s difficult to know if the sampler is worthwhile until one knows what the exceptions are. Does Disney post them somewhere BEFORE it is purchased?
