Time for a great new Disney Cupcake addition to the Contempo Cafe bakery case in Disney World’s Contemporary Resort!
Our love for the Contempo’s Red Velvet Cupcake with its fantabulous cheesecake center, may be rivaled by this one!
These cupcakes are pretty large — probably shareable if you’re the sharing type — and topped with a creamy, light frosting. Not quite whipped cream frosting — there’s definitely some heft — but close.
Once we went in for our cross-section shot, I was pleased to see the center of the cupcake stuffed with peanut butter filling. And, as expected from a Contempo Cafe cupcake, this wasn’t just more of that light frosting. This was real-life peanut butter filling — more like what you’d expect in a peanut butter cup.
You can see the texture of the filling here — pretty awesome! And not to sweet, either, leaving that salty-sweet taste of peanut butter as a nice complement to the sweet chocolate cake.
While this cupcake doesn’t rival the wonderfulness of the Main Street Bakery chocolate peanut butter cupcake or the Boardwalk Bakery Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake, it is a good option if you’re hanging out in the Contemporary Resort.
And speaking of CUPCAKES! If you love ’em as much as we do, be sure to check out our fun food challenge, the 2012 Disney Food Blog Cupcake Crawl, to savor all the best and the brightest from around Disney World!

Oh man oh man!,, That looks sooo good. We discovered the cupcakes at The Contempo Cafe on our last visit in 2011, they are FANTABULOUS! Going in 2 months and will definitely have to try this baby out!
Oh. My. Goodness.
We’re doing a quick trip in April and staying at the Contemporary. I must have this!!
Talk about over the top. Pretty soon these cupcakes will be three feet tall. Now if someone can come up with a cupcake with an booze filling, I’m in.
I’m so glad you did a review of this! I saw these the last time we visited the resort and wanted one so badly, but I’m not a fan of shelling out $5 for one cupcake. The next time we go, we will have snack credits, so I’m confident that I’ll get one then! Thanks, AJ!
Also, I absolutely love this blog! Best Disney food blog I’ve come across so far.
Whoa I think I just put on a few pounds just looking at that picture, but it was worth it 🙂
Oh my!! I think I would need a gallon of coffee to enjoy with that beauty!!
I need this in my body.
These look sooooo super delicious! I will for sure have one on our next visit to the World. Not good for my waistline but one won’t hurt too much…I will walk it off later which is easy to do there.
